Amelia is a lifelong rider. Her first horses were two older mares who came with the property her family purchased in Nevada County in 2000. She began her equine career right here at Oak Tree Stables feeding and mucking paddocks for the previous Pete Brennan.

Wanting to gain more experience Amelia went to work in Bishop Ca packing mules in the High Sierra in 2007. Since then Amelia has followed riding jobs throughout the western states including guiding pack trips in Yellowstone National Park, leading high- end tours in Aspen Colorado and riding the remote desert trails of New Mexico and west Texas. During this time

Amelia learned different styles of horsemanship and best care practices from each ranch. After took a short break from her riding career to apprentice at a regenerative ranch in Montana where she honed her land management and animal husbandry skills.

Amelia moved back to California in 2022 to manage the riding program and barn at Greenhorn Ranch, located in Quincy CA. During this time she was responsible for the health and care of 70 horses featuring many breeds and all life stages. It was during this time that Amelia and Andrew began to dream of Oak Tree Stables.

In 2024 Amelia and Andrew were able to make that dream come true. They are honored to care for the horses of Nevada County and look forward to meeting you somewhere down the trail!
